The Sherman + Reilly™ Revolution Series T-1608 Bullwheel Tensioner is built with a single pair of 60 in. 5-groove bullwheels (2 total) and a max tensioning capacity of 8,000 lb. Each bullwheel has its own planetary gearbox and hydraulic motor with spring-applied hydraulic release brake. A precision, microprocessor-controlled motor drive enables inching, even under maximum load.

The T-1608 includes an automatic tensioning system which maintains the operator set tension. In addition to tensioning mode, the T-1608 can operate in a pull-drive mode for easy rewinding of unused conductor and in forward drive for ease of bullwheel reeving.

Designed to work with the CRS-96/67 and the CRS-108/83 reel stands by connecting either of the two external hydraulic connections at the front or the rear of the unit, the T-1608 can control these CRS units to manage tension all from within the T-1608’s Safe-Zone® cab.

With PLC machine control with CANbus technology, the T-1608 uses a removable/replaceable memory card to store all relevant stringing data, self-diagnostic system for all hydraulic circuits and PTO control for reel stand control. The onboard computer system allows for self-diagnostics of all hydraulic circuits with results shown on a large color display.

Featuring Sherman + Reilly’s Safe-Zone® cab to provide safety and comfort for the operator, the cab employs a polycarbonate front window for maximum visibility while protection against impact. The cab also has a fully adjustable ergonomic seat, and all required electronic controls and gauges. The Safe-Zone® cab is designed to reduce operator fatigue, and provide an “off-ground” envelop for greatly reducing the risk of touch potential in energized environments.
